About Us

I grew up with Brittanys as my parents had a male when I was born. When I was thirteen I became interested in dog shows. The dog I had intended to take through obedience classes hurt her foot so instead I took her son through training, but we never competed. Then I discovered conformation classes with him and as they say I was hooked from there! Our family of Brittanys steadily grew to six Brittanys. The "official" beginning as N-Vee Brittanys was in 1986--the name inspired by the first Brittany I raised myself from a pup. I enjoyed showing in obedience and conformation as well as taking the dogs bird hunting with my dad. Over the years I have also added hunt tests, rally obedience, tracking and agility to my endeavors. I have been involved in Brittany rescue for many years as well.

I bred my first litter in 1991 and was very fortunate with the results. It is not often that you breed your first champion from your first litter, but also to have that dog be a group winner, multiple specialty winner, and National Best of Breed winner is just phenomenal. Rock was fortunate to reach his potential through Alar Brittanys. My second litter was born at Alar Brittanys and I was co-breeder. Out of that litter came three champions, one of which was still winning from the veterans classes. While these dogs were not bred extensively, their offspring have done very well and are still out there winning today. In 2005 we had our first litter in 12 years. Watch for those youngsters in the field, agility ring, obedience ring, & showing.
